Ponte di Legno will be the arrival of the 16th stage of the Tour of Italy 2019 on May 28th. Departure from Lovere (Bergamo), then the climbs of Mortirolo and Gavia and conclusion in Ponte di Legno (Brescia). The director of the Tour of Italy, Mario Vegni confirmed that the great Alpine steps will be included in the 2019 pink race, which will start from Bologna on 11 May and end on 2 June in Verona.
Alpine peak of 226 km and 5700 m in altitude. The Gavia pass (Cima Coppi) and the Mortirolo pass are climbed from the “mythical” side of Mazzo di Valtellina. A very hard, tiring stage that will offer marked detachments even among the men of the standings.
